Trail running the South Hill Bluffs

Temperatures in the 70s, balsamroots the best in years–there couldn’t be a better time to go trail running on Spokane’s South Hill Bluffs.

20130520-_DSC0695Another shot from the Fishtrap Lake trail system. Blooming right now: blue flag, wild onion, sticky geranium, camas, puccoon and more. Bitterroot should be blooming in the next week or two.

Fishtrap Lake wildflower wanderings

20130520-_DSC0680The western blue flag is currently at its peak on the Fishtrap Lake trail system, one of the best spots for wildflower wandering in eastern Washington. Incidentally, the mosquitoes at their peak, too; bring bug repellent!
