Tieton River

Fall colors on the Tieton River west of Yakima. Although the mountains of the Pacific Northwest get most of the attention for their autumn larch shows, the Columbia Basin has its own fall flair, with sumac, serviceberry, aspen and cottonwood leaves turning color and rabbitbrush blooming. The Tieton River even boasts the Oregon White Oak, the only oak native to Washington.
