South Fork Smith River, California. The serpentine rock in the area gives the river an amazing blue-green color.
Spring color on Cougar Mountain in the Colville National Forest south of Republic, Washington. Wildflowers are a bit late this year, but desert parsley, larkspur and oval-leaved buckwheat can be found blooming on mid-elevation slopes.
